Lakes 1 and 4 Renovation Update

The rainy months of January and February have prevented the contractor from making progress on the renovation work on the lakes.  The contractor has temporarily stopped work on the project to allow the lake areas to dry up.  The contractor is expected to resume work around the end of March or beginning of April.  The completion of the projects depends on the weather and the availability of trucks.  Lake 1 is in the final stages and has 5-6 weeks of work to complete the project based on weather and trucking restraints.  Once the work on Lake 1 is complete it will take 8-10 weeks to fill the lake based on the outputs of the water wells.  The fountains will then be installed and the lake will be restocked with fish.

The start of work on Lake 4 will depend on the availability of personnel from the contractor.  Removal of the lake sediment could be done simultaneously with Lake 1 work or after Lake 1 is complete.  Once work commences on Lake 4 it will take 9-10 weeks to complete the work.  Once work is complete it will take 5-7 weeks to fill the lake at which time the fountain will be installed and the lake will be restocked with fish.

Based on the current estimates Lake 1 could be complete in Mid May and full of water in Mid July.  Lake 4 could be complete by early August and full of water by mid September.  Lake 4 could be completed earlier if the contractor is able to do work simultaneously on Lakes 1 and 4.  All of these time estimates are at the mercy of the weather and the availability of trucks.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Lake 1 Renovation Update

The renovation work on Lake 1 is now set to start within the next two weeks. The contractor selected to do the renovation has been delayed due to the wet spring and summer as well as the recent hurricane causing issues in completing current projects. Two fish harvests have been done and the lake level has been allowed to drop naturally by turning off the water well. The remaining water will be pumped out of the lake. We anticipate some odors in the initial renovations as the biologic material in the lake bottom dries out and rots. The truck traffic will be high as the lake bottom is removed and the new clay is hauled in to line the lake. Please bear with us as the renovation is underway. Once the work on Lake 1 is completed it will be filled and restocked with fish from other lakes and work will begin on Lake 4 to do the same process.
